 Disable Mobile Hotspot in Windows 10/11



            In windows 10 and 11 there is a option to enable the Mobile hotspot or share the Internet connection through the Network & sharing settings. So this way you can use the same Wi-Fi network that you were using in your laptop or PC. It is unsecure to share the internet connection through Laptops or PCs in organizations. It's affect the entice organization network connectivity when one someone downloads or use heavy traffic through the same network. To overcome this we have an option to disable the mobile hotspot or internet sharing option in windows 10 and windows 11. 





To disable the Mobile hotspot or Internet connection sharing in Windows 10 and Windows 11 follow the below steps.


  • Open Run and type 'regedit' and enter or search registry editor in search bar.


  • Go to the following path


HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Network Connections





  • Check whether there was a DWORD key with name ' NC_ShowSharedAccessUI ' . If there was no such DWORD key, create new one by right click and select New > DWORD (32 bit) Value.

  • Set the parameters like below
                Value Name - " NC_ShowSharedAccessUI"
                Value Data - 1
                Base - Hexadecimal



  • Restart the Machine.

Now onwards you can't enable the Internet sharing or Mobile hotspot option.





To enable the option, you need to revert the DWORD value data from '1' to '0'.
